WHO WE ARE

The Bluegrass-Appalachian Regional Service Committee of Narcotics Anonymous (BARSCNA) is a service body whose primary purpose is to pool together and develop resources that can be used by areas and groups within the Bluegrass-Appalachian Region in better fulfilling their responsibilities.

The Bluegrass-Appalachian Region was formed in March 2002. It consists of five areas: Foothills Area (centered around London and Corbin, KY), Grass Roots Area (primarily in the far eastern part of Kentucky and the far western parts of Virginia), Kentucky Survivors Area (geographically centered around Lexington, KY), Kentucky's Heartland Area (with meetings in Campbellsville; Danville; Harrodsburg; and Lebanon), and Southern Kentucky Serenity Area (geographically centered around Somerset, KY).

BARSCNA serves three basic functions: First, to unify and to provide help and support to its member areas; second, to carry the Narcotics Anonymous message of recovery through its various subcommittees; and third, to contribute to the growth and enhancement of the quality of Narcotics Anonymous as a whole by giving support to the area service committees of its members.

The RSC meeting is held regularly on the last Sunday of every 2nd month at 2:00 p.m. unless re-scheduled. Check our announcements page for the time and location of our next RSC meeting. All addicts who are interested are encouraged to attend.
